Xochi is a memorable setting for business lunches, happy hours, birthdays, anniversaries, rehearsal dinners, bridal and baby showers, graduations, company parties, holiday celebrations, cocktail receptions, and more. Our experienced team will help guide every detail, from menu planning and floral arrangements to audio and visual support for presentations or entertainment. Guests may select from curated set menus, or our culinary team can create a custom menu designed for your occasion.

Xochi is located downtown on the first floor of the Marriott Marquis Houston, across from Discovery Green at the corner of Walker and Crawford. Valet parking is available at our front door for $11.

Espadín

Located to the left behind the wine display as you enter Xochi, the Espadín Room is a bright and versatile private dining space ideal for a variety of gatherings. Named after the most widely used agave in mezcal production, the room reflects Xochi's connection to the traditions of Oaxaca. Windows provide natural light, and the flexible layout accommodates both intimate groups and larger events. The room is equipped with a TV for presentations and features a display of colorful alebrije-style trophy heads representing various animals.

Chapulín

Located at the opposite end of the dining room at Xochi, the Chapulín Room is a smaller private dining space ideal for intimate celebrations or business meetings. Chapulín, meaning grasshopper, is a nod to the popularity of insects in Oaxacan cuisine. Curtains can be drawn for added privacy, creating a comfortable and secluded setting for your gathering. The room features a photograph by Diego Huerta and offers a flexible layout well suited for both social and professional occasions.

Lounge

Tucked just beside the lobby entrance, the Lounge at Xochi offers a cozy semi-private setting for gatherings of all kinds. Banquette seating creates a comfortable space for seated dinners, while the flexible layout also works beautifully for cocktail or reception-style events. The room is adorned with vibrant alebrijes suspended from the ceiling and striking photographs by Diego Huerta, adding color and character to this intimate corner of the restaurant.

Patio

The covered patio at Xochi offers a relaxed open-air setting overlooking Discovery Green. With views of the park, it's an ideal space for happy hours, receptions, and cocktail-style gatherings. The flexible layout allows guests to mingle comfortably while enjoying the vibrant energy of downtown Houston.

Does Xochi offer private dining rooms?

Yes. Xochi offers several private and semi private spaces, including Espadín, Chapulín, Lounge, Patio, and Full Buyout options. Capacity depends on the room, layout, and style of event.

Can I schedule a tour of the private spaces?

Yes. Guests interested in hosting an event can request a tour of Xochi's private spaces by submitting an inquiry or contacting the banquet coordinator.

Does Xochi offer catering?

Yes. Xochi offers off site catering for events held outside the restaurant. Full service catering and simple drop off options may be available depending on the needs of your event.

Can Xochi help with menu planning?

Yes. The Xochi team can help with menu planning and event details. Guests may choose from curated set menus, or the culinary team can create a custom menu for the occasion.

Is a set menu required for larger parties?

For parties of more than 16 guests, Xochi generally requires a set menu with 2 to 4 options per main course. This helps the kitchen provide the best quality and service for your event.

Can menus be customized for dietary needs?

Yes. Menus can be customized for dietary restrictions, including vegetarian and vegan options. Please share any dietary needs during the planning process.

When do menu selections need to be submitted?

Menu and wine selections should be submitted at least 5 days before your event.

Can I bring outside food or beverages?

Outside food and beverages are not permitted. Specialty cakes may be allowed with prior notice and approval.

Does Xochi offer beverage packages or bar options?

Yes. The team can assist with beverage planning, including wine, beer, cocktails, and open bar options for smaller events. Beverage selections can be discussed during the planning process.

Can Xochi provide audio and visual support?

Yes. Audio and visual support may be available for presentations or entertainment. Options may include microphones, speakers, podiums, projectors, and screens.

Can we decorate the room?

Yes. Guests may decorate the room for their event. Please avoid confetti, glitter, or anything that could damage the walls. The team can also help arrange special touches like flowers, balloons, specialty linens, and valet.

Is a deposit or credit card required?

A credit card is generally required to secure an event reservation. Deposit and cancellation policies may apply based on the event date and details.

What is the cancellation policy?

Events cancelled within 7 days of the party may forfeit the deposit or be responsible for specialty ordered items. Cancellations during the month of December may forfeit the deposit.
